My argument is the look at 2 routes people can take with their lives. I chose the colorful tulips as my first picture because it means to me a beginning of life. The buds are just no blooming and they are only going to be open for a little bit. This also could symbolize a short life. Life, as many people say is too short. The next picture is a foot that has a bar code on the bottom. This could mean that in this persons life they are meant to only do one thing. They are either suppose to take control of a families company. Another could be that this person is suppose to be a house wife. Symbol for very specific roles in their life. They next is group of people partying and having a good time. What this picture means in my argument is they they are the people that don't care about life and what to just have fun, hey aren't attached to anything and they just want to live life to the fullest. My second to last picture is of a married couple. This symbolizes they people that get married and settle down to have a family. They are the ones that keeping the population steady. The last picture symbolizes death. In all these different types of lives, everyone will have to die at some point.

With my argument I feel like that I made it very specific. I wanted it to be about the different lives that we tend to grow up to have. There is always a beginning and there is always an ending. Other elements that could make this stronger is having the first picture fade in to nature music. The second picture I can just hear when items are being scanned in a supermarket. The third would be at a concert. The forth picture having wedding bells being played and then having children screaming in the background. A lot of happiness in this picture, Then last we have a dark a sad element for the last picture. It will fade out to a black screen.

  • Who is the intended audience for this product? What values or opinions does the target audience hold? Does the company appeal to these values or opinions in the commercial? If so, how?
  • What are the social and cultural connotations within the text? What colors, pictures, or phrases are used? What technology does the text use?
  • What is the overall purpose of this commercial? (Be specific-- while most commercials are seeking to persuade, what is this commercial's specific goal for the intended audience?)
  • Is the commercial successful in achieving its goal? How do certain elements in the commercial work together to help or hinder the overall message?
1) The intended audience is this commercial is people who like to see dogs to funny things. Another audience would be people who like cars, people who just like subaru, and people that want a ice dependable car. It does because at the end of the commercial it says "Dog tested. Dog approved". And love showing up at the end and then the subaru slogan.

2) So this commercial reminds me that when men are stopped at a walk way and an attractive female walks across and we watch her. Then our wife that is also in the car gets mad. The car company did the same thing but with dogs. So no matter what type of person or animal this will do the same thing. The used different types of dog breeds in this commercial, it is a nice sunny day, and they have a blue car.

3) I think the overall purpose of this commercial to try and sell this car.

4) I think this commercial is a success because people want a dependable car. And with love being the last word to show up in the commercial, it could mean that you would fall in love with this subaru car.

I decided to use a picture from a vacation I went to last summer in South Carolina. This tree is called the Angle Oak Tree and it is estimated to be well 1,500 years old. The audience for this picture is people who love nature. People that like to go see unique places that states have to offer. Tourists who like to see cool things where they are at. This is a massive tree and was so cool to be able to stand next to this massive living tree. I also attached a white and black picture so it would be easier to get the feel of it. With the picture being in black and white, I don't think that my audience will change. It does give the look that the tree is even older that what I said it was. The title that I would give this picture is "Older than you". I chose this title because everything that goes and sees it won't compare in age to it. This tree has been through a lot and it is still growing. Again my audience won't change. If any of you get a chance to go to South Carolina, near the coast, I highly recommend go seeing this beautiful tree.

I decided to do my meme on CT technologist because that is what I currently do the most. I kept the most of the captions the same except for the third one. I decided to 'what patients thinks I do'. For my first picture I chose a radiologist reading exams. Every time I try and tell my friends what I do or they explain to others what I do, they always think I am a radiologist. I correct them by saying I am the person that takes the pictures.

Since my mom works in the medical field, she already knew what I did. She may not understand the concept of what I do, just knows that I use a machine to take a scan of the body.

The third picture is for all the patients that I get to encounter on a daily basis. I would say 3 out 5 of all the patients that I work with always thing that the machine they are going into is a MRI machine. So that is why I put a picture of a MRI machine in that space. Another thing that I get is metal questions and if they can go in the scanner. I always tell them that this is CT not MRI, and if they have a piece of metal that will cause artifact I have them remove.

The forth picture is simple because everyone knows that we techs deal with radiation, and that if we didn't have then we would have a job. For the fifth picture I put a person being' surrounded by a lot of stuff, I chose this because I always think I am doing a bunch of work before we actually scan. We always want to make sure we are doing everything properly because we don't want to have to repeat scans. The last picture is a given because I wouldn't be doing that if I weren't a CT tech.
